Fertilizer:

Flower:

Begonia Amphioxus features brilliant, purple or white blooms that bloom in any season and up to three times per year. Flowers are made up of sepals but no petals. This exotic, terrestrial plant is monoecious, which means that each bloom on the same plant is either male or female. Begonia blooms are, therefore, ‘unisexual.’ The fruit is a winged capsule that splits open when mature, releasing a slew of tiny seeds.

Water Requirements:

Water is essential for Begonia Amphioxus. Therefore, it is advised that it be watered every other day during the summer and only once a week during the winter. It is critical to allow the leaves to completely dry between waterings to avoid leaf rot and fungus.

Temperature:

Begonia Amphioxus is a delicate plant that does not tolerate extreme fluctuations. Temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius are ideal for the plant (50-85 degrees Fahrenheit). It demands a warm climate because it is a tropical species. Indoor plants should be placed in a window facing north. The plant needs more light when it is flowering.

Humidity:

High humidity is an essential element of Begonia Amphioxus maintenance. Daytime humidity should be between 60 and 80 per cent, while nighttime humidity should be between 80 and 100 per cent. You may also spray your plant on sweltering and dry days. If your house is arid, place a pebble-water tray beneath your plant pot to regulate the humidity level. A humidifier, on the other hand, can accomplish the job. Be cautious not to overwater your plant over lengthy periods.

Soil Requirements:

A well-drained substrate is required for Begonia Amphioxus maintenance. The soil should be solid and productive. A standard houseplant mix in packets is an acceptable choice. You may also add limestone chips to help the plant develop. The soil should be moderately acidic to neutral, with an acidity level ranging from 6.1 to 7.5.

Light Requirements:

These plants are located in the understory of tropical regions in nature; therefore, replicating their native habitat is essential for a healthy plant. Begonias thrive in indirect light that ranges from dappled to brilliant. However, exposing this unusual terrestrial plant to direct sunlight can cause it to burn. Therefore, a north-facing window is an excellent place to keep it indoors. When the plant is in bloom, it requires a lot of indirect light.

Begonia Amphioxus is a container plant that thrives indoors. It improves in artificial light. However, for best growth, a spacing of 20-40 cm is advised. If the plant is maintained too near to the light, it might become overheated or even burnt.

Leaves:

The most noticeable characteristic of these beautiful houseplants is their leaves. The lance-shaped leaves have crimson dots on them. Its splendour is beyond this world. Both ends of the leaves are pointy. The leaves are typically 3-5 cm long and 1-2 cm wide.
