Here’s a guide to keeping your Philodendron tenue thriving:   

Light:

• Philodendron tenue flourishes in bright, indirect light.   
• Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves.   
• East or west-facing windows with sheer curtains are ideal.
• It can tolerate lower light conditions, but growth may slow, and leaves might be smaller.   

Water:

• Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out before watering thoroughly.   
• Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.   
• During the active growing season (spring and summer), you may need to water more frequently than in the dormant winter months.
• Adjust your watering schedule based on the temperature, humidity, and light levels in your home.

Humidity:

• Philodendron tenue thrives in high humidity, mimicking its native tropical rainforest environment (60% humidity or higher).   
• Increase humidity by:
  • Using a humidifier.
  • Placing the pot on a pebble tray filled with water (ensure the bottom of the pot doesn’t sit directly in the water).
  • Grouping plants together.
  • Misting the leaves regularly with room-temperature water.

Soil:

• Use a well-draining, moisture-retentive potting mix.
