Colocasia Lime Gecko is a beautiful tropical plant prized for its striking lime-green and yellow variegated foliage. As a type of elephant ear, it has large, downward-pointing leaves.

Here’s a guide to its care for a colocasia lime gecko :
Light:
- It thrives in bright, indirect sunlight.
- Direct, harsh sun can scorch the leaves, so avoid placing it in a spot with intense afternoon sun.
- An east or north-facing window is often a good choice for an indoor plant.
- In an outdoor garden, a spot with dappled shade or protection from the hottest sun is ideal.
Water:
- This plant loves moisture and prefers consistently moist soil.
- Do not let the soil dry out completely, but also be careful not to let it become waterlogged, which can lead to root rot.
- They can even grow in boggy conditions or shallow water, which is a testament to their love for wet environments.
- In warmer months, you may need to water frequently to keep the soil damp.

Humidity:
- As a tropical plant, it thrives in high humidity (around 60-80%).
- If you’re growing it indoors in a dry environment, you can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, using a pebble tray with water, or placing a humidifier nearby.
Soil and Fertilizer:
- Use a rich, well-draining soil mix that can retain moisture. A mix of potting soil and compost is often recommended.
- This plant is a heavy feeder. During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilize every two to four weeks with a balanced, liquid fertilizer. You can also incorporate rich compost into the soil.
Temperature:
- ‘Lime Gecko’ prefers warm temperatures and is not frost-tolerant.
- The minimum temperature it can tolerate is around 50°F (10°C).
- If you live in a colder climate, you can grow it outdoors during the warm season and bring it inside for the winter. During its dormant period in winter, reduce watering and keep the tuber dry.

Other Considerations:
- Toxicity: Colocasia plants are toxic if ingested, so keep them away from children and pets.
- Pests: Watch out for common pests like aphids and spider mites.
- Dormancy: Colocasias may have a dormant period in the winter. If this happens, the leaves will die back. You can store the tubers in a cool, dry place until spring.
