Here is the best way to care for your Kalanchoe Peach Plant:

🍑 Kalanchoe Peach Plant Care

Aspect Care Instructions
☀️ Light Bright, Indirect Sunlight is Ideal. Place it near a sunny window (South, East, or West-facing is usually best) where it gets plenty of light. Avoid harsh, direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.
💧 Watering The most crucial step is to avoid overwatering. As a succulent, it stores water in its thick, waxy leaves. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.
⚠️ Tip: Stick your finger about 2 inches deep into the soil. If you feel any moisture, wait a few more days before watering. Reduce watering significantly in the winter.
🪴 Soil Use a well-draining mix, such as a pre-made cactus or succulent potting mix, or mix regular potting soil with perlite or coarse sand to improve drainage.
🌡️ Temperature It prefers average room temperatures, between and ( and ). Keep it away from cold drafts and heating vents.
✨ Fertilizer Feed it once a month during the growing and blooming season (Spring and Summer) with a balanced, liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half-strength. Do not fertilize in the fall or winter.
✂️ Pruning Deadhead the spent flowers (cut off the old flower stems) to encourage a tidier look and potentially new blooms. You can also prune back any leggy stems to keep the plant bushy and compact.

Getting Your Kalanchoe to Rebloom

(The Secret)

Kalanchoes are “short-day” plants, meaning they need a period of long, uninterrupted darkness to set flower buds. This naturally happens in the winter, but indoors you can force it:

  1. Rest Period: After the current blooms fade, give the plant a rest period for about six weeks.
  2. Short Days: During this time, the plant needs 14 hours of total, uninterrupted darkness every night. You can achieve this by placing it in a closet, under a box, or in a completely dark room from late afternoon until morning.
  3. Cooler Temps (Optional but Helps): A slightly cooler temperature at night (around to or to ) helps stimulate bud formation.
  4. Resume Care: After six weeks, return the plant to its normal sunny spot and resume regular watering and fertilizing. New flower buds should appear within a few months!
