That’s a beautiful plant! The Curcuma White a (often a variety of Curcuma alismatifolia, also known as Siam Tulip or Summer Tulip) is a stunning tropical plant from the ginger family.
Bright, Indirect Light: Curcuma needs plenty of bright light to thrive and produce flowers. A location near a bright window (east or west-facing is often perfect) is ideal.
Morning Sun is Fine: It can handle a couple of hours of direct morning sun, but protect it from intense, scorching midday or afternoon sun.
💧 Watering
Active Growth (Spring to Early Fall): This plant loves consistent moisture while it is actively growing and flowering. The soil should be kept consistently moist but never soggy or waterlogged. Water when the top inch of soil feels slightly dry to the touch.
Dormancy (Late Fall/Winter): This is crucial. As the flowers and foliage start to yellow and die back, significantly reduce watering. The plant is storing energy in its rhizome (tuber) for the next year. The soil should be kept mostly dry to prevent the rhizome from rotting during this dormant period.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Warmth is Key: Being a tropical plant, Curcuma prefers temperatures between 65∘F and 85∘F (18∘C and 29∘C) during the growing season.
High Humidity: It loves high humidity. You can increase humidity by misting daily, using a pebble tray with water, or placing it near a humidifier.
Avoid Cold: Keep it away from cold drafts, especially as it enters dormancy.
🪴 Soil & Fertilizer
Well-Draining Soil: Use a rich, well-draining potting mix. A standard houseplant mix amended with some compost or organic matter is a good choice.
Fertilizing: Feed regularly during the active growing and blooming season (spring and summer), typically every 2-4 weeks, with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Stop fertilizing completely once the plant enters dormancy.

😴 The Dormancy Cycle
The most important part of Curcuma care is managing its winter dormancy:
Signs of Dormancy (Late Fall/Early Winter): The leaves and flower stalks will start to turn yellow and brown and eventually die back. This is normal and not a sign of poor health.
Dormancy Care: Once the foliage has died down, you can cut the remaining stalks close to the soil line. Move the pot to a cool, dark, and dry location (like a garage or basement) where the temperature stays above freezing.
Minimal Water: Do not water the dormant pot unless the soil becomes bone dry, just to prevent the rhizomes from completely desiccating.
Waking Up (Late Spring): In late spring or early summer, bring the pot back to a warm, bright location and resume regular watering. New shoots will emerge from the rhizome to start the new growing season.
