Originating from Australia, this handsome fern will slowly start to produce cord-like rhizomes that are studded with a mixture of lustrous green fronds. These new fronds will vary in shape and size (from quite small and simple, to more intricate and deeply lobed), but they all share a softly ruffled appearance and rich green coloring. As they grow, the creeping stems will start spilling over the edges of the pot, so they can either be left to the trail, or tucked into fresh compost when the time comes for the plant to be potted on.
Follow these instructions to keep your Kangaroo Fern healthy and happy.
Water: Water thoroughly when at least 50% of the soil has dried out. Don’t mist.
Light: Medium indirect light. If displayed outdoors, keep in the shade.
Humidity: Medium to High Humidity is best.
Fertilize: Balanced Liquid Fertilizer, diluted by half, once a month in spring/summer. Do not fertilize in winter/autumn.
