Light Requirements

This plant prefers low to medium, indirect light. In nature, Ludisia grows along forest floors under dense canopy, so it is adapted to shaded conditions. Bright, direct sunlight will scorch the leaves and can bleach the variegation. A north- or east-facing window works well, or place it a little away from a brighter window behind a curtain. Under artificial lighting, moderate LED grow lights are ideal. Too little light may slow growth and reduce variegation contrast.

Temperature
Ludisia discolor ‘Alba Variegated’ thrives in temperatures between 18–28°C. It tolerates normal indoor conditions very well. Avoid temperatures below 14°C and protect it from cold drafts and sudden changes. Consistent warmth encourages steady leaf production and healthy roots.

Humidity
Moderate to high humidity is best — ideally 60–80%. While it can survive in normal room humidity, it grows more vigorously and keeps better leaf quality in higher humidity. It performs excellently in terrariums or plant cabinets. If grown in open air, use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group plants together to increase local humidity. Watering
