Its care is similar to other ficus species, but with an emphasis on a high-humidity, stable environment.
Here is a care guide for your Ficus melawi:
Light:
- Dappled shade or bright, indirect light. In its natural habitat, it grows on the forest floor under a dense canopy.
- Direct sunlight can easily burn its leaves.
- You can place it in a room with a north- or east-facing window, or several feet away from a south- or west-facing window.
Watering:
- Keep the soil evenly moist. This plant does not tolerate drying out completely, nor does it like to sit in waterlogged soil.
