The scindapsus silver hero is a climbing scindapsus with beautiful silvery green leaves. It is a relative to the scindapsus pictus and scindapsus treubii moonlight. It is not a pothos, but they sometimes are called pothos, or even sold as philodendrons they are scindapsus.
Scindapsus Silver Hero Light Needs
Medium to bright indirect sunlight is ideal. I have seen them survive in low light conditions, but they do not want to be in direct sunlight as it will very likely burn or crisp the leaves.
How Often to Water
Check it once a week and water it when the top 50% is dry. They are not especially fussy in this regard, but you don’t want under and overwatering issues to show on those beautiful leaves.
Fertilizer
Use a balanced fertilizer once a month in spring and summer to encourage bigger and quicker growth.
Scindapsus Silver Hero Soil
Use a well-draining potting compost. Add 20% perlite to a standard potting mix to aid drainage.
When To Repot
Repot when it outgrows its current pot. The best time is in spring, and it’s a good time to take cuttings and propagate too. You can repot any time of year though if you like.
