Anthurium subsignatum was described and the name validly published by Heinrich Wilhelm Schott in 1861.

Anthurium subsignatum is a species in the genus Anthurium which contains between 871 and 1203 species and belongs to the family of the Araceae (Arum Family). The type species of the genus is Anthurium acaule.
